Former astronauts articulate the oneness...

This is a very moving piece. Another call for a new world order, from an extraordinarily privileged point of view.

To look back at earth from the cosmos, and see, but not just see, feel, the intricate interconnectedness of all.

I highly recommend taking the time to watch this thought-provocking piece.

On the 40th anniversary of the famous ‘Blue Marble’ photograph taken of Earth from space, Planetary Collective presents a short film documenting astronauts’ life-changing stories of seeing the Earth from the outside – a perspective-altering experience often described as the Overview Effect. The Overview Effect, first described by author Frank White in 1987, is an experience that transforms astronauts’ perspective of the planet and mankind’s place upon it. Common features of the experience are a feeling of awe for the planet, a profound understanding of the interconnection of all life, and a renewed sense of responsibility for taking care of the environment. ‘Overview’ is a short film that explores this phenomenon through interviews with five astronauts who have experienced the Overview Effect. The film also features insights from commentators and thinkers on the wider implications and importance of this understanding for society, and our relationship to the environment. « Le Miroir » wonderfully creative short film.

Le Miroir tells the story of a man passing from childhood to the status of "old man", all seen through the eyes of himself in the mirror.

It's a great wee film, only a few minutes long and well worth the time invested.

Creativity is not a talent. It is a way of operating.

Loving hearing John Cleese talk about creativity. Creative thinking is a topic I love learning about, and practicing. And my two cents, if you're in a 'brainstorming meeting' be sure to throw every idea on the table – no matter how crazy. Keeping ideas playful and spontaneous is key. Definitely do not start self-editing for fear of laughter. You never know where the 'big idea' will come from, and all ideas are valid for the sake of stimulating other thoughts if nothing else.

Enjoy Mr Cleese and his five key factors to help your creativity:
• Space
• Time
• Time (yup)
• Confidence
• Humour

This was recorded in 1991, but just as valid today as it was then.
